City Vision

The Madrid of the future we dream of can be summed up in one sentence: we want it to be a place that combines the opportunities of a global metropolis with the quality of life of a city designed on a human scale. 

Our work on the Municipal Strategic Plan has a very clear goal: to improve the quality of life of the people who live in Madrid, creating a healthy, safe, accessible and attractive environment that supports well-being and social cohesion. 

In other words, we want Madrid to be a city where daily life feels pleasant and more human, a place where people’s everyday experience is as positive as it is in smaller cities, where the pace and needs are different. 

A city that takes pride in its street life, neighbourhood culture, hospitality and identity, while still providing essential services that are accessible to everyone; and where public space is safe, comfortable and easy to navigate for adults, children, older people and people with disabilities. 

A city capable of generating real well-being and opportunities for everyone, from quality jobs and affordable housing to sustainability and social cohesion.
